SOFTWARE
Recommended Software
Software can be divided into 3 types. Simulation, Simulcade and Arcade. For reviews on software go to our software page. Though the Hyper Stimulator works with just about every driving software, for a REAL driving experience, we can really only recommend Grand Prix Legends, Papyrus Nascar 2003, and Racing Legends by the West Brothers when it comes out. Once you have driven Grand Prix Legends or Nascar 2003 with a proper video card and a Hyper; nothing else even comes close.
How realistic is it?
Depends on the software. But very realistic if you install simulation software as recommended above.
3rd PARTY CONTROLS
I have my own non Hyper steering wheel and pedals so can I purchase just the Hyper Stimulator chassis plans?
No, but you can purchase a Hyper Stimulator Clubman Chassis Kit and attach your controls.
Can I upgrade the Clubman chassis to Hyper controls in the future

FORCE FEEDBACK
Is Force feedback realistic?
No, but Hyper provides you with the choice of purchasing a chassis ready for your Force Feedback controls or a Hyper with Hyper's professional controls.
Are you going to offer a Force Feedback Steering wheel?
At this time Force Feedback needs a complete rethinking. It is not possible to get the sample rate fast enough based on the current consumer hardware available to make it truly realistic. Many top gun race drivers use Hyper's with Hyper REAL FEEL controls. All these pro drivers have tried force feedback controls and dismissed them as toys. When the technology works and demand is there, then it will happen. In the meantime, if you find force feedback appealing, you can purchase a Hyper Stimulator Clubman Chassis and fit your own force feedback controls.
CONSTRUCTION
What materials are the Hyper Stimulator made of?
They are constructed of MDF wood and if painted, are painted in automotive 2-pack paint to a high gloss finish. The seat is made of fiberglass or carbonfiber and the pedal and steering boxes are made of metal. There are no cheap plastic components here. Only quality components are used with proper electrical switches for the paddle shifters and sequential shifter.
If I don’t purchase the Molded Racing Seat, can I purchases the Pre-Cut Seat Panels?
Almost everyone purchases the Black Fibreglass Racing Seat with their Clubman but if you don’t, you can order the pre-cut seat panels separately.
If I buy the Clubman chassis what else can I use for a seat?
A bean bag works well. The chassis sides contain the bean bag, stopping it from settling.
PROGRAMMABLE BUTTONS
Do I need the Programmable Button Option?
The ability to help avoid the keyboard while racing in Grand Prix Legends or Nascar is a real plus and worth every penny of its cost. You can upgrade later but at a slightly higher cost.
OPTIONS
What are Pit Wheels and do I need them?
The Pit Wheels allow you to fold your Hyper Stimulator up and move it out of the way easily on roller wheels. If your Hyper is always sitting in the same spot and not being moved, then you probably don’t need them.
Do I need a Heel Plate for my Kit Model?
The Heel Plate is designed to protect the painted surface from being scratched and scraped by your feet while using the pedals. You decide if you need the protection.
Do I really need the Racing Harness for a Hyper Stimulator? (Only available on the Extreme)
The Racing Seat does a great job of keeping you in your seat, however the Racing Harness is the ultimate. The real enthusiast wants the best possible tools for braking and steering and wants to avoid all body movement while in the chassis, just like real racing car drivers.
Is it easy to add the Sequential Shifter later?
Absolutely, very easy. All our seats come with pre-drilled gear lever holes with a covering plate for it and ready for you to bolt it in. The shifter cable just plugs into the game port on your computer and then plug the Hyper Cable from your Hyper Stimulator into the piggy back plug on the shifter cable. That simple.
Can I buy a different paint scheme. Are there different colors?
Aside from the standard factory built painted Hyper's, you can order Race Team paint schemes. Although there is no painted option on the Clubman you can order Race Team Decal kits. See Race Team paint.

Does the Hyper work in Windows 2000 and Windows XP?
Yes, the latest Hyper Software for Win98/WinMe and Win2k/WinXP are available to download from the downloads page.
Unzip it to a folder and run the installation program.
Recommended Sound Card for PC's.
We recommend the SoundBlaster Audigy range.
I'm a PC user. Should I use a monitor or a TV?
If you want the best picture possible, you can't go past a large screen CRT. If you want to drive into a TV, you should look at using a high definition TV or better still, a data monitor. Plasma's are good but will suffer from 'Screen Burn-In' from items on the screen that remain stationary for long periods. (eg; Nascar gear/speed indicator)
BIG DRIVERS
Will I fit?
The Hyper will fit up to a 6'6" person. The Hyper cockpit will also fit reasonable wide bods, but if you are very large around the butt or shoulders, you should check with your Hyper agent first.
SPACE PROBLEMS
I've got no space for a Hyper !
The Hyper folds up for storage. If your space problems are related to space needed when in use, then here is an idea. If you have a bedroom with a single bed, why not put a post under each corner of the bed and raise the bed up like the top berth of a bunk bed (and fit a ladder) and put the Hyper under the bed in lieu of a lower berth. Fits perfectly.
MAINTENANCE
How easy is it to get replacement pots when they wear out? My current steering wheel doesn’t offer any so I have to throw it away?
It is not a problem to get replacement potentiometers and they won’t cost you the moon either. We have developed an optical pot upgrade that will practically never wear out but are extremely expensive.
FUTURE
Is the Hyper Stimulator going to use a USB connection in the future?
We will have at some point in the future an upgrade harness and module, which will allow the current Hyper Stimulators to change over to USB. This means that the Hyper Stimulator is truly upgradeable.
